Weight loss: Padma Lakshmi's chickpea salad recipe can help you shed kilos! - Times of India

But there are celebrities who take to social media to show how they cook their favourite meals or prepare their favourite snacks!
In one such delightful Instagram reel video, actor, model and author Padma Lakshmi shares the recipe for her high-protein go-to chickpea spinach salad.
"This is a vegan recipe," she explains in the video.
"This is a way to get all the protein you need for very little effort. I'm not sure why it's so good with just boring ingredients."
Let's take a look at the 'boring ingredients' and how she prepares the salad!

Ingredients

Chickpeas

Chopped red bell pepper

Spring onions – 2 tbsp

Lemon juice

Olive oil

Black pepper – ½ tsp

Salt to taste


How to prepare?

Step 1: Rinse and dry the chickpeas.

Step 2: Add the chickpeas into a large mixing bowl. Add the chopped red bell pepper to it.

Step 3: Sprinkle 2 tbsp of spring onions.

Step 4: Drizzle some olive oil and squeeze some fresh lemon juice.

Step 5: Add fresh spinach leaves and mix everything together. Add salt to taste.

Step 6: Sprinkle some black pepper powder and toss again. Voila! You have the salad Padma Lakshmi has been having for about 20 years!
